Government Suspended Chief Taxation through Local Government Act 2014

Gilgit-Baltistan government has suspended  Chief taxation through local government act 2014. In this regard a notification issued by Dy secretary LG&RD Sanaullah. In notification the local govt said that on the directives issued by Chief  Minister Gilgit-Baltistan,  Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman the notification of local government and rural development department  issued in June 2016 regarding collection of local council revenues with immediate effect.
According to the notification, all tax collection of local council revenues including rates and  fees charges imposed in the province  under the 3rd schedule of the Gilgit-Baltistan local government act 2014 through the local councils now have been withheld until a final decision and further direction of the provincial government. Meanwhile Anjuman Taajran Gilgit-Baltistan has announced to suspend it’s shutterdown strike due to Prince Karim Aga khan’s up coming visit to Gilgit-Baltistan.General Secretary markazi Anjuman Taajran Masood u Rehman told media persons that they have decided to postponed the protest and shutter-down strike schedule due to expected visit of  his highness Aga Khan, the new schedule of strike will be announced after the visit of his highness.
